Below are the top 10 information technology transactions.
Nvidia has agreed to acquire Hugging Face, the open-source AI model and dataset repository, for $12.9 billion — $11.9 billion payable to Hugging Face shareholders plus an additional $1 billion in equity to retain employees joining Nvidia. The deal, a major jump from Hugging Face's $4.5 billion valuation in a 2023 funding round, expands Nvidia's reach further into the AI software and model ecosystem as it seeks to strengthen its position amid rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic developing their own chips; it marks Nvidia's second-largest acquisition on record, behind its $20 billion Groq asset purchase. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, according to a securities filing.
Stripe has agreed to acquire OpenRouter, an AI model gateway giving developers access to 400+ LLMs, for a reported $7+ billion — though official terms remain undisclosed. The price represents roughly a 5.4x premium over OpenRouter's $1.3 billion valuation from a $113 million Series B closed just three months earlier in May 2026. The deal extends Stripe's push into AI infrastructure, following its $1.1 billion Bridge acquisition and $53 billion joint PayPal bid with Advent International; no closing timeline has been disclosed.
AMETEK has completed its acquisition of a portfolio of instrumentation businesses from Indicor, LLC in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $5.0 billion, funded through credit facility borrowings and new debt issuance. Indicor Instrumentation, which generates roughly $1.1 billion in annual sales, is expected to contribute approximately $350 million to AMETEK's 2026 sales and be modestly accretive to 2026 adjusted earnings, with the businesses being integrated into AMETEK's Electronic Instruments Group and Electromechanical Group. The transaction has already closed.
Databricks has closed a $5 billion strategic funding round at a $190 billion valuation, led by existing investor Coatue, coinciding with the company surpassing a $7 billion revenue run-rate on over 80% year-over-year growth in Q2. The capital will fund continued investment in Unity AI Gateway (multi-AI governance and cost controls), Genie (its AI coworker for business data), and Lakebase (its serverless Postgres database for AI agents), and is expected to also support future AI acquisitions and deepened AI research. Given the scale of both the raise and the revenue run-rate, this sits well outside typical software/IT runway norms — Databricks' growth trajectory and profitability profile suggest funding is being deployed for strategic expansion and M&A rather than to extend a limited runway, with no near-term follow-on raise implied by the announcement.
Visa has agreed to acquire BioCatch, a behavioral and device intelligence fraud prevention provider, from Permira-advised funds and other shareholders for $2.4 billion in cash. BioCatch, which analyzes behavioral and device signals to detect fraud in real time across 1.8 billion devices and 760 million users for more than 350 banking clients globally, complements Visa's existing cyber, fraud, and risk security offerings as part of its broader push to prevent account takeovers and scams upstream. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close by the end of Visa's fiscal second quarter of 2027.

SK Telecom is spinning off the data center and submarine cable operations of its subsidiary SK Broadband into a new entity, SK Horizon, with KKR and a domestic consortium of IMM Investment and Stonebridge Capital investing a combined KRW 3.08 trillion (approximately $2.2 billion) in equity. SKT will retain majority control with a 51% stake, while KKR holds 29% through its Asia Pacific infrastructure strategy and the IMM-Stonebridge consortium holds the remaining 20%. The capital will fund expansion of SK Horizon's AI data center capacity to 318 megawatts across eight facilities plus development projects, and expand its international submarine cable network; the transaction is expected to close in Q1 2027, subject to shareholder approval and regulatory clearances.
This $2 billion strategic equity round (bringing total capital raised over the past year to more than $3 billion, at a post-money valuation above $10.5 billion) is a substantial outlier in size for hardware/industrials, and given the stated buildout across Australia plus early-stage expansion into Indonesia and the wider Asia-Pacific region, runway likely extends well beyond the typical 24–30 month window—plausibly 36+ months given the scale of capital committed to physical infrastructure. Next raise, if needed, is more likely tied to expansion or capacity milestones (Asia-Pacific market entries, AI Factory capacity online) than a fixed timeline.
Francisco Partners has agreed to acquire Moneris, Canada's leading commerce and payments solutions provider, from joint owners BMO and RBC for approximately C$2.0 billion in cash, with each bank receiving a 50% share. Both banks will maintain long-term exclusive referral agreements with Moneris going forward, and former Global Payments CEO Jeff Sloan will join as Chairman as part of the transition. The deal preserves Moneris' existing Canadian operations, leadership, and roughly 2,000-person workforce, and is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of BMO and RBC's fiscal year 2027, subject to regulatory approvals under Canada's Retail Payment Activities Act and Competition Act.
Mitsubishi Electric has agreed to acquire all equity interests in PCI Energy Solutions, a U.S.-based provider of energy management and optimization software for utilities and power market participants, for $1.4 billion. PCI's software supports mission-critical functions including power trading, generation and transmission operations, supply-demand planning, and settlement, primarily across North America. Upon completion, PCI will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric; the transaction is expected to close in 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
TTM Technologies has agreed to acquire Epiq Solutions, a provider of specialized software-defined radio and embedded computing technology for defense and government customers, from Veritas Capital's Vantage strategy for $1.1 billion. The deal expands TTM's positioning in SIGINT, electronic warfare, unmanned systems, and space applications, building on Epiq's growth under Veritas' ownership since 2022 through organic investment and acquisitions of Xiphos Systems and Cyber Radio Solutions. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory conditions and is expected to close by the end of 2026.
